THE WARDROBE THEATRE PRESENTS : Creating your own work based on personal experience with Lucy Danser, as part of our Artist Development Programme

This 2 hour online workshop is a must for any performer interested in creating their own work, particularly those who are keen to use their own experiences as the work's initial inspiration. Combining writing exercises, the opportunity to share your work and tips on fictionalising real life, this session will be packed full of useful advice to get you started on creating theatre based on personal experience.

Lucy is a playwright, storyteller and theatre maker and the artistic director of Chatback Theatre. She has written the plays Rachael's Cafe and Lost in Thought and her latest play, If This Is Normal is currently on tour around the UK. Lucy writes female-led stories about mental health, sexual consent and personal identity, all influenced by true stories and personal experience. Other writing work includes: Bog (work-in-progress showing at The Pleasance) and Stand Up & Slam (Brighton Komedia, Wales Millenium Centre, The Wardrobe Theatre). As a storyteller she has performed at Spark True Stories, Genesis Cinema, RePlay Storytelling's 24-hour festival and The Moth StorySLAM where her story was selected for The Moth RadioHour.

You can find her on Instagram at @lucydanserwrites and Twitter at @lucydanser.
